Kildare-based multinational engineering company now seek a Logistics Tender Specialist with substantial experience within Air forwarding. You will support the Global Logistics team by ensuring relevant structures and arrangements are in place with air transportation providers to deliver an efficient and cost-effective service in support of global logistics requirements. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Run or support tenders from Regional Hubs in (DE, US, CN, IN) as well as from 50 Sales Centers worldwide.
  • Plan and develop tender documents including clarification of legal and business requirements and issues.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements to develop comprehensive tender RFQs.
  • Execute tender with electronic tendering tools.
  • Manage the evaluation process to agreed timeframes and internal deadlines.
  • Calculate and benchmark transportation costs in tender and for spot requests.
  • Given the RFP results, prepares recommendations for decision-making.
  • Communication with Logistics Service Providers.
  • Regular monitoring of tender success and analysis of success factors.
  • Handover and close cooperation to Implementation Team and other stakeholders.
  • Support the team in ensuring agreed elements of contracts are adhered to and delivered by the LSPs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree with a focus on logistics and/or strong experience in logistics tender management.
  • Experience buying air forwarding logistics services.
  • A high degree of self-direction, initiative, and commitment.
  • Solution-oriented with proven experience solving problems and implementing efficiencies.
  • Experienced in tender documents development.
  • Good knowledge of electronic tender tools, Excel, MS Word and Powerpoint
  • Experienced in negotiation management
  • Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English, one additional language like German and Chinese are an advantage
  • Ability to work in Ireland without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Ability to undertake regular business travel to Europe. 
  • Flexibility due to rotating shift system to cover Global Logistics Footprint.

Terms: 
Fulltime permanent, site-based, 37.5 hours weekly working a weekly rotating shift pattern starting 07:00, 08:00 and 14:00 Hrs.
