
Kildare-based multinational engineering company now seek Freight Accounting/Data Analytics Experts. This position will support the Logistics Cost Controller in the development of the Logistics Cost Control Department and function.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Liaise with Procurement to ensure transport rates are being applied accurately and aligned to contract agreements.
- Use agreed rates to create and maintain the pricing schedule for logistics service providers (LSPs).
- Interpret the pricing schedule and provide analysis and reporting for management.
- Work with LSPs to monitor rate application reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve any invoicing discrepancies and where necessary be able to justify differences.
- Monitor invoicing received and liaise with LSPs to ensure invoices are received in a timely manner aligned to internal cost management procedures
- Ensure invoicing documentation is uploaded and recorded in the correct format.
- Record spot market prices reported through the systems and agree and execute required settlements.
- Support the development of reporting and dashboards to measure KPIs.
- Provide insights from data analysis to support the decision-making process internally.
- Use a variety of methods to present financial information – Tableau, Excel, visual analysis etc.
- Support the presentation of non-financial data as required.
- Support the review and implementation of standard processes for the management of the rate structure systems for the Global Logistics Portfolio.
- Onboard and train new LSPs.
- Liaise with LSPs to implement efficiencies of process and procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Global Logistics team to support understanding of business challenges and bring value through solutions
Minimum Requirements:
- Accounting background with strong experience in cost controlling.
- Hold a relevant degree in Logistics, Data Analytics or Finance.
- Knowledge of rate structures and day-to-day logistics operations to put freight settlement in context would be an advantage.
- Proven experience explaining procedures in a manner that influences action.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in Master data creation and data analysis.
- Experience using a Logistics Cost Management Tool or experience with comparable freight settlement or complex cost management tools.
- Strong knowledge of Excel or similar (PowerBI and Tablau etc) are desirable.
- Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English to support our customer base, one additional language like Chinese, German, Polish is an advantage.
- Ability to work in Ireland without restriction or sponsorship.
- Ability to undertake regular business travel to Europe.
- Flexibility due to rotating shift system to cover Global Logistics Footprint.
Terms:
Fulltime permanent, site-based, 37.5 hours weekly working a rotating shift pattern starting 07:00, 08:00 and 14:00 Hrs.
