This position involves working in the freight department and you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations.

Duties Will Include:

  • Adherence to procedures relating to accrual of costs, invoicing, completion of shipment files, and general administration.
  • Contacting suppliers (ocean, air, road) and negotiating rates.
  • Taking care of the reception area.
  • Logging visitors in and out.
  • Admin work on excel and our own in-house systems.
  • Checking accruals are correct.
  • Issuing quotations and managing customer accounts.
  • Passing vendor invoices to accounts payable
  • Communicating with the operations team to help this process move fast as possible.
  • Other back-office duties to help gain experience with our systems like putting jobs in the system.
  • Help solve accounts queries in a timely manner by email or phone, a fast turnaround required
  • Ensure all file documentation is boxed and filed appropriately once completed

Skills Requirements

  • Previous experience in customer facing roles
  • Customs Experience an advantage
  • Proactive and responsible, taking personal ownership of role
  • Methodical with an excellent attention to detail Proficient in all Microsoft Packages
  • Proactive communicator in the use of email and phone
  • Fluent English both written and spoken essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
