The Head of Finance and ICT will lead the Finance and ICT functions of the business and will be responsible for providing robust “value-adding” FP&A to enable effective medium to long-term planning. The successful candidate will be a commercial and strategic business partner to the Managing Director and will be expected to provide meaningful strategic analysis with cross-functional collaboration. They will assess risks and opportunities, whilst contributing to the overall growth of the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As Head of Finance and ICT, the successful candidate will play a key part in the Senior Leadership Team.

They will:

  • Be part of senior management, providing analysis and insights to the team by contributing to the identification, development & achievement of the group's growth strategy and objectives.
  • Participate fully in Leadership/Management meetings, expressing own views convincingly whilst supporting and respectfully challenging fellow colleagues appropriately.
  • Manage and lead the Finance/Accounts team to ensure that they are highly engaged and have the skill sets, resources and support needed to deliver in their role and achieve their objectives
  • Ensure Financial Systems are as effective as possible to deliver the required information to the business.
  • Manage and forecast annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Timely reporting of monthly management accounts, weekly profitability, and full suite Board of Directors monthly reporting.
  • Partner with the business units and support functions to build budgets and forecasts based on key drivers of performance.
  • Preparation of detailed analysis and financial models to support business cases to determine capital allocation and any investment decisions.
  • Analyse business trends and historical performance, working with cross-functional teams across the organisation to map the future of our industry whilst being aligned with the Group’s Cultural Strategy

Information and Communications Technology

  • Strong systems capability and highly IT literate – capable of being super-user
  • Proven project management experience managing and implementing ICT systems.
  • The ability to implement new ERP FP&A software systems and manage further developments.
  • Lead the development, documenting and reviewing of standard operating procedures for the knowledge base including “How to” guides and for all operating policies and procedures in the business

Person Specification

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification - ACA, CIMA, ACCA CPA
  • 3-5 years post qualification experience in a senior financial role
  • Experience with or in implementing a new finance software
  • Experience of using ERP FP&A systems to their full potential and functionality
  • Experience in making financial budgets and various monthly reports
  • Production of high-level business reports for the business management and the board of Directors
  • Highly data rational with excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Proven ability to build successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to plan strategically across the business.
