Long established North Dublin freight company with strong brand recognition, now seek a Head of Sales (Commercial Manager). Leading from the front, you will deliver the company’s ambitious sales growth targets across its full portfolio of multimodal freight forwarding, warehousing and logistics services.

The objective is to both serve existing clients, through excellent customer service on current business and by developing new revenue streams, while also attracting significant additional business from new clients.

Managing and leading the sales function you will ensure that it is positioned to maximize sales opportunities to ensure the business achieves its’ ambitious growth plans.

As well as your own new business targets, you will also manage a team of four Business Developers and indirectly manage a four person Customer Services Team.

A natural ambassador you will enjoy working with clients to develop existing and new business and have a proven track record of doing so.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years freight industry experience with a minimum of 5 years within a direct sales function in the Irish freight industry.
  • Previous success building, mentoring and managing a small team.
  • Experience of multimodal freight forwarding, warehousing and logistics services in terms of traffic, carriers and customers.
  • 3rd level degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is an advantage
  • Strong PC skills with Excel reporting knowledge
  • Previous experience developing a sales strategy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience within a pressurised environment with a track record of meeting personal and team sales targets.
  • A motivated self-starter who is able to work on own initiative
  • Possess excellent decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking and highly proficient computer skills.
  • Enjoy and be able to multi-task activities with shifting priorities in a high energy dynamic environment.
