Well known logistics company based in Rathcoole, is seeking to recruit a Roadfreight Forwarder to support and grow European business by delivering 1st in class service. Responsible for efficient planning of consignments to and from Ireland, including, hazardous goods, consumer goods and pharmaceutical products.
Planning related activities include: groupage load planning, part loads, full loads, container loads, IMDG processing, booking ferries, and building relationships with fellow colleagues and key partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure best-in-class lead times

  • Book, plan and monitor part/full loads (charter) with partners, ensuring customer’s lead times are achieved
  • Knowledge of European geographical areas

Monitor service quality

  • Communicate any service failings to customer service team, with a proactive solution and customer focused approach
  • Run daily reports to check and monitor shipment progress
  • Monitor and present key freight forwarding KPI’s

UK & EU trailer arrival planning

  • Book in and process EU trailer arrivals taking into consideration volumes and network capacity
  • Deal with internal departments on arrivals, special requirements etc.
  • Communicate with other branches and hauliers when required

Prepare supporting documentation

  • Prepare and process DGN documentation, ensuring 100% compliance
  • Request customs paperwork for non EU shipments

Cost effective planning

  • Plan all consignments in the most cost-efficient manner
  • Negotiate ad-hoc transport rates

Build relationships

  • Build working relationships with partners, ensuring ease of business throughout our organisation
  • Build trusting and professional relationships with colleagues and team members

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics
  • Customer focused and able to deliver on our agreed service levels, exceeding them when required
  • Appetite for learning with a positive and energetic outlook
  • Ability to deliver both individual results, as well as contributing to team success
  • Methodical with an excellent attention to detail
  • Good problem solver with a clear and logical decision-making process
  • Ability to respond positively to change
  • Knowledge of Warehousing and Logistics processes
  • Knowledge of IMDG shipping regulations a benefit
  • Microsoft office, with good excel skills an advantage
  • Diploma or degree qualified desirable but not essential

Own transport is essential as site is not connected to public transport network
