A successful and well-established Freight Company based in Wicklow now seeks to hire a Trainee / Junior Freight Forwarder. The position will entail training in air, ocean and road freight.
With continued training, the candidate needs to be motivated to succeed and have the drive & enthusiasm for continued learning. You must also be living locally as the client will not consider candidates who require relocation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train in all company Systems & processes. Become an expert within the industry.
- Work with your mentors within each department to develop an insight knowledge into each service
- Co-ordinate with each department to learn the processes of freight forwarding
- Become familiar with the industry, the competitors, the service providers, the customers, their needs & pricing.
- Liaise with customers, shipping lines, road-freight operators, airfreight operators, hauliers, customs and overseas offices.
- Complete training plan set out specifically for this role to complete succession for the future!
- Assist in the administration within each dept.
- Assisting in the weekly/monthly reporting for all customers
- Building a career
Minimum Requirements:
- Recently Completed Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing or a similar field
- Proven Motivation & Drive to Succeed
- Good communication skills
- PC Literate
- Flexibility / Good at Multi-Tasking / Good with Basic Maths.
Terms: Full-time permanent
Package: €24-26,000 starting salary with a review after 6 months
