Import / Export Liner Clerk (Agent)
Established Shipping Line based in Dublin City Centre now requires a Liner Agent (Clerk) to join their busy office. Ranges of experience considered from only 1 year - 5 years experience in Deep Sea! This role is ideal for a candidate working in a Deep Sea Freight Forwarder looking to move into the Shipping Line side of the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Exports:
- Creating booking as per the details submitted by the shippers.
- Coordinating with the depot for the empty releases and with the terminal to ensure the container is on board as per the loading list.
- Updating of the Bill of Lading data, sending drafts to customers and releasing the final Bill of Lading.
- Forwarding the Freight invoices to the customers.
- Maintaining the track of the container by checking with the relevant transhipment ports and updating the customers.
Imports:
- Uploading import manifest, issuing Arrival Notices to all the relevant customers.
- Ensure that the payment is issued and Release is forwarded accordingly
- Keep track of the inventory.
- Coordinating with the transporters regarding the haulage arrangements, shunting of containers by issuing relevant work orders.
- Total track and interfacing of Demurrage/Detention cases which includes issuing invoice to the customer and paying the charges to Head Office. Also check the Quay rent charges and issue the invoice accordingly.
- Attending all the customer service calls for imports.
- Coordinating with all overseas offices regarding all the import-related issues.
- Verifying the accuracy of supplier invoices and creating purchase orders.
- Preparing management reports in relation to sales volumes per month.
- Assisting in handling the Claim related cases.
- Presentation of all the relevant reports to the Head office.
- Coordinating with the hauliers and the Head office to prepare the yearly agreements
- including negotiation of rates and other terms and conditions.
- Keeping track of the overall documentation in relation to the performance of operations
Requirements;
- One or more years of Operations experience in a Deep Sea Liner or Ocean Freight Forwarder in Ireland.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Working knowledge of Customs Procedures would be an advantage
- Good problem solver
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal Communication Skills
