Well known logistics company based in Rathcoole, is seeking to recruit an experienced, professional Logistics Manager to manage and develop their Dynamic Contract Logistics Department. The Role reports to the Operations Manager and presents an excellent opportunity for an exciting and rewarding career development at the company.

This role is responsible for the Contract Logistics (CL) Department at their Dublin depot and additional facilities. You will be responsible for leading a high performing department with a focus on safety, efficiency, customer centricity that ensures an excellent environment for their  team and excellent experience for their customers.

Your role takes responsibility for all People management within the department, Facility & equipment Management and Customer operational relationships. It will be your remit to see that the people and processes are aligned to their strategy and ensure the department meets all requirements set out under HSA, COMAH, ISO, Customs and other industry relevant standards as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities to include but not limited to: 

  • Champion a positive Health & Safety culture 

  • Develop Excellent relationships with their CL Customers and internal customers

  • Identify and develop Intelligent Logistics Solutions and value added services for new and existing customers 

  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly resource Management to meet Business needs 

  • Support sales in securing new business and own the operational relationships with CL customers 

  • Deliver seamless New Customer or process Implementations 

  • Maintain and develop a first class Inventory and Master data Management to ensure accurate stock control, compliance with regulations and optimised processes 

  • People Management & Development responsibility for Warehouse, Service and Administration Staff across multi shifts and locations 

  • Responsible for control and monitoring of all equipment used in the warehouses.

  • Maximise all technology, processes and equipment and identify opportunities for efficient use of technology 

  • Maintain and develop all core KPI and measurements tools and promote and develop a performance driven culture 

  • Promote positive Team spirit and build succession and development plans for all staff

  • Responsibility for preparation and maintenance of total department budget to include Wages, MHE, Consumables & CapEx 

  • Ownership of all compliance related standards in the warehouse such as COMAH, Climate Control and Customs and Excise Bonds 

  • Regular presentation to Senior Management Team and Senior Customer contacts

  • Responsible for delivery of financial & efficiency targets for the department and contributing to company overall performance 

  • Revenue maximisation through 100% accurate charge capture 


Minimum Requirements

  • Will have minimum 3 years’ experience in similar roles 

  • Be safety, quality and efficiency focused 

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Possess excellent systems & process knowledge and know how 

  • Possess a strong desire to further their education and knowledge of Logistics and the company Network 

  • Have strong leadership and people development skills 

  • Be flexible to the requirements of running an operation that requires up to 24 hour / 7 day operation 

  • Be flexible and available to travel to other locations for training and network development

Required Education/Qualification/Knowledge:

  • Education and continuing learning in Logistics processes & Management 

  • Advanced knowledge in WMS & Time Management Systems 

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Customer Service and Communications focused development 

Required professional experience: 

  • Experience in leading and developing a safety focused operation 

  • Experience in Hands on resource Management on the Warehouse floor 

  • Experience and professional know-how in the Contract Logistics operations and processes 

  • Experience in management and leadership 

  • Economical thinking and advanced process knowledge
