Operations Manager (Warehouse & Transport)

A leading Dublin 12-based food distributor now requires an experienced Operations Manager with extensive team management experience in an FMCG food-based warehousing environment. 

As the Operations Manager, you will encourage and develop the team. This role will focus on managing and organising all aspects of the warehouse primarily, and transport operation encompassing all tasks from when the order is placed with our sales team to when the orders are delivered to our customers. This is a customer-focused business, and the ideal candidate needs to be a motivated and customer- focused individual with the ability to work on their own initiative with strong leadership skills.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activity of running the Transport and warehouse operations ensuring that the day-to-day operations run smoothly. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse team and transport team, ensuring the workflow and supervision of the team is effective and any obstacles to the process are cleared. 

The core function and scope of the Operations Manager is to; 

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer service in the Transport and Warehouse Team.
• Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle 
• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency 
• Oversee the arranging and planning of the warehouse, goods receipt, route planning and shipment processing in conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor & Transport Manager.
• Resolve any arising problems or complaints 
• Supervise, coach and train the team 
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets 
• Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements 
• Comply with Health and Safety 
• Continuously look for improvements to operations 
• Working proactively with various departments to realise efficiencies and manage expectations

Minimum Requirements;

• Min 5 years of proven working experience as a logistics or Operations manager within a busy FMCG food-based warehouse.
• Record of successful distribution and logistics management 
• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff 
• Proficient in standard logistics software 
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills 
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects 
• Qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain would be ideal.
• Having strong communication skills to manage the internal and external stakeholder expectations 
• Strong leadership skills 
• Solid interpersonal and organizational skills 
• Good personal presentation 
• Ability to make decisions under pressure 
• Good commercial and business understanding 
• Working knowledge of Index WMS would be beneficial
• Experienced in working in a multicultural environment 
• Familiar with Workplace Safety and Environmental factors.
