Purchasing and Logistics Manager required for a long established North West Dublin import and distribution company. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the management team responsible for the acquisition, shipping, management and delivery of all stock items which are forecast to reach a total value of €10m in 2022.
Duties & Responsibilities;
- Manage the delivery of efficient supply chain activities whilst maximising profitability through effective management of logistical cost centres.
- Gain a comprehensive knowledge of product and service offering.
- Review and manage all third‐party freight, warehousing and distribution supplier relationships.
- Agree and manage all third‐party logistics service level agreements.
- Assist in the production, management and implementation of the purchasing budget and monitor on an ongoing basis.
- Manage supplier relationships on a supply chain level ensuring effective on‐time fulfilment.
- Collate and negotiate annual supplier pricing.
- Ensure costing of all stock is within expected parameters.
- Manage waste packaging and organic authority compliance.
- Prepare costing sheets for all stock items.
- Create and manage all supply chain related data on the internal software package, ensuring key details are always update to date.
- Forecast stock requirements with respect to purchasing budget and strategy.
- Communicate purchase orders to relevant suppliers and record and file correspondence.
- Communicate purchase orders to shippers and record, monitor, file and report weekly status.
- Manage tracking information on all purchase orders and prepare reports on relevant information.
- Land stock to warehouse ensuring all parties' details are correct within paperwork.
- Collect and collate all relevant paperwork and carry out administrative tasks in order to complete full purchase order cycle
- Input purchase order cycle data to financial reporting model and deliver completed to financial department.
- Manage and distribute new and existing product information to sales and admin team.
- Produce weekly / monthly reports detailing supply chain issues which will impact future order fulfilment.
- Reconcile stock records against third party logistics warehouse stock records.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and report losses.
- Undertake quarterly stock counts including end of year count.
- Reconcile all stock takes and report variances to financial controller.
- Liaise with auditors relating to all stock queries.
- Ensure effective rotation of all stock items to mitigate out of condition product.
- Trouble shoot all day to day third party courier issues.
- Manage day to day third party warehouse issues.
- Manage all day to day freight supplier issues.
- Preparation and submission of Repack returns.
Experience, Education & Preferred Skills:
- 5-10 years logistics management experience within a product based import and distribution environment.
- 3rd level degree graduate in logistics or a business related discipline
- Excellent numeric acumen.
- Ability to prioritise and work to a high level of accuracy under pressure.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Holistic understanding of IT systems and ability to learn how to operate them quickly with particular emphasis on Microsoft excel.
- An understanding of supply chain management at both a strategic and implementation level.
