Our client is an impressive Irish success story when it comes to building a large, quality-driven logistics company. The business continues to grow and so they now require an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager for a new South Dublin site. They are building a disciplined warehouse and distribution site that is tightly managed and fully compliant with the procedures and service levels crucial for their client.

The Warehouse Operations Manager is a key person in the management team who is responsible for ensuring that world-class service level expectations are exceeded every day. This is achieved via good operational planning, professional management of the warehouse, customer service and driver teams and good communication with all stakeholders. The key remit of this role is to deliver the agreed service levels via excellent all-round management skills. 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Ensuring the agreed operational processes and procedures are implemented within the business unit.
  • Ensure that the warehouse operates at optimum efficiency and exceeds client expectations.
  • Supervise daily warehouse activities including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, floor productivity, logistics and customer service.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the key stakeholders. Of particular importance is to maintain regular contact with key people within the client. The Operations Manager is responsible for implementing a cadence of meetings and reporting to achieve this.
  • Setting up a cadence of performance review with client stakeholders to review operational data; customer feedback; persistent problems etc.
  • To act as a client escalation point in the event of issues or problems.
  • To oversee the effective and professional management of all team members (warehouse team, customer service team and delivery drivers) including weekly 1-1’s with Supervisors and Team Leaders; regular catch-ups with team members; early communication of rosters; disciplinary actions; performance management; accurate reporting of wages & holidays; training and refresher training; etc.
  • To manage the operation in accordance and compliance with SOPs and to improve these procedures as needed.
  • Develop clear Work Instructions for all of the teams and that an effective induction and ongoing training programme is in place.
  • Ensure the full and effective use of the technology suite with particular emphasis on the WMS and full traceability of all stock inbound, held and out for delivery
  • Managing the operation to agreed plans, budgets and KPIs.
  • To oversee the hiring and induction of new team members within the company guidelines.
  • Strong operational planning that focuses on both the current weeks and with a monthly, quarterly and annual view. Planning includes staffing requirements, layout changes, goods in & out processes, quality initiatives etc.
  • Ensuring the operational resources are always sufficient to deliver a high level of service without allowing reduced efficiency
  • Ensure all complaints, issues, failures are followed up rapidly, all the stakeholders are communicated and all details are documented.
  • Manage a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with all regulations.
  • Oversee regular maintenance of equipment and machinery.

Minimum Requirements;

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a warehouse management role including the direct management/supervision of hourly employees
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field.
  • Comfort and aptitude for technology and in particular WMS systems 
  • Experience of implementing warehouse SOPs
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • A skilled multi-tasker with strong attention to detail and high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement
  • Project Management Skills
  • Comfortable with managing people, plans, budgets and reporting

Terms: 
Full-time, permanent, site-based

Package: 
€75k + Bonus
