An established Freight Forwarder company based in North County Dublin, is currently seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Import Freight Forwarder to join their team. This role involves efficiently managing the importation of goods by air and ocean, ensuring smooth customs clearance, and timely delivery to the destination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the import process for assigned accounts.
  • Arranging the movement of goods, handling customs documentation,
  • Coordinating with overseas partners, 
  • Ensuring all operations are executed seamlessly.
  • Attention to detail and expertise in import logistics will contribute to the success of operations.

The Role:

  • Process import air and ocean bookings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and process carrier, shipping, commercial, and customs documents.
  • Utilize the Thyme IT system for import customs clearance.
  • Provide accurate and timely quotations for import shipments.
  • Resolve operational issues and invoice queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Generate profit reports using spreadsheets and maintain file completion, including invoicing and filing.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the import process.
  • Collaborate with overseas offices, partners, and agents to ensure smooth import operations.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department's operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in air and ocean import freight forwarding within the Irish market.
  • Proficiency in processing import customs clearance entries using Thyme IT.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regimes, legislation, classification, incoterms, valuation, and origin rules.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Tenacious, detail-oriented, outgoing, commercially aware, and well-organized.
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Terms:
Full-time, permanent, office-based.
