Multinational global logistics provider now seeks an experienced Air Freight Forwarder for their Dublin 9 office. The company has a very ambitious management team and is happy to structure a package to attract a like-minded individual. The purpose of the role is to assist the Operations Manager in the effective running of the Operations Department by; compiling, agreeing & managing freight forwarding clients and business plans where appropriate; ensuring operational plans are developed and implemented to ensure the achievement of freight forwarding business objectives; ensuring that air/road/sea freight SLAs are met.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth operational running of operations freight forwarding Clients to mainly include Air Freight but also Ocean Freight and European Roadfreight Forwarding.
- Management of supplier relationships to ensure that SLAs are achieved.
- Ensuring that service is maintained at the levels agreed within contracts.
- Defining, compiling & analysing agreed KPI information to ensure optimal efficiency & performance.
- Producing statistical information relating clients
- Reviewing & monitoring internal processes to ensure optimum efficiencies.
- Ensuring that operational plans are developed and implemented in line with business objectives
- Developing close relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings, developing and maintaining confidence and encouraging loyalty.
- Reviewing & analysing contract performance with customers, recommending & initiating improvement plans where appropriate.
- Ensuring that customers are kept fully informed about issues that affect contract performance.
- Design and presentation of appropriate client KPI’s.
- Identifying, developing and pursuing organic business growth opportunities with current clients.
Education and Experience Requirements;
- A minimum of two years air freight forwarding operations experience in a busy forwarding department.
- Knowledge of current Air Freight rates and service options
- Experience moving pharmaceutical, healthcare, aerospace or food products is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good Communication and Customer Service skills are essential
- Friendly, calm and professional manner
- Ability to handle pressure and good time-management
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively as part of a team
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation
- Flexible working hours may be required during busy periods
- Experience of Cargowise preferred
