An international logistics company based in North Dublin now seeks a Business Development Manager with experience selling Air Freight Forwarding solutions within the Irish market. The purpose of the role is to obtain new business and grow existing business clients through prospecting, client interfacing, issuing proposals and closing business. You will then successfully implement the new business obtained with the operations team.

Key Tasks and  Responsibilities;

  • Acquire new clients within designated industries through individual prospecting actions. 
  • Promote the new commercial offers.
  • Answer tenders in collaboration with the purchasing service.
  • Advise customers on the transport solutions available.
  • Build and present proposals to customers. 
  • Achieve existing customer growth and new business targets.
  • Pursue New Business development covering multi-modal transportation with a key focus on Air Freight within the designated vertical.
  • To work in conjunction with the global designated vertical network to deliver new business opportunities from existing network accounts.
  • Identify new opportunities and trade lanes in line within company procedures and updating all activity in the company CRM.

Minimum Education and Experience;

  • Three years or more proven sales track record within the local market.
  • Previous International logistics experience – all modes (Air, Road, Sea & Courier) 
  • Higher Leaving Certificate ideally with a Degree.
  • Well-presented, professional individual with excellent written and verbal language skills
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and build a pricing model for a customer
  • Full computer literacy
  • Ability to create and implement strategies
  • Ability to work within a target-driven and pressured environment
