Airfreight Operations

A well-established freight forwarding company based in Dublin 15 is seeking an experienced Air Freight Forwarder to support the Air Freight Supervisor in the daily coordination and execution of air import and export operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process air freight shipments using internal freight management systems, ensuring accurate documentation and operational compliance.
• Coordinate daily workflow to ensure all customer deadlines and transit requirements are consistently met.
• Communicate directly with customers to gather shipment details, provide updates, and ensure service expectations are achieved.
• Ensure all operations comply with relevant aviation, customs, and transport legislation.
• Maintain and update customer profiles, SOPs, and operational instructions.
• Handle customer queries and resolve service issues, escalating where required to senior staff.
• Liaise with airlines, agents, and subcontractors to arrange the smooth movement of cargo.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices and overseas agent billing in line with agreed tariffs and pricing structures.
• Monitor shipment profitability and contribute to maintaining accurate profit and loss control on assigned files.
• Complete all administrative and operational tasks in line with company procedures and standards.

Requirements & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in air freight forwarding operations within a busy freight environment.
• Strong understanding of the air freight industry, including airline negotiation, routing options, and overseas agent coordination.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service focus.
