A large Dublin 15-based freight forwarder now seeks an experienced Air Freight Forwarder to support the Airfreight Supervisor.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Use of freight systems to complete documentation and operational processes.
- Organise operational workflow to meet customer timeframes.
- Communicate effectively with the customer to obtain relevant information and ensure their needs are met.
- Ensure legislative compliance in all areas.
- Maintain Customer profiles/SOP’s
- Resolve customer issues and escalate where support is needed.
- Liaise with sub-contractors to arrange the carriage of goods.
- Raise payable invoices to customers and overseas agents in accordance with agreed rates and tariffs, whilst monitoring financial Profit & Loss levels on own shipments.
- Complete all administrative functions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years recent air freight forwarding operations experience within a busy air freight department
- Good knowledge and experience in the Air Freight market, including ability to negotiate with Airlines, local suppliers and overseas offices
- Ability to work under pressure using own initiative
- Prioritising key tasks, attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, planning and organisational skills
- Strong Communication/telephone skills
- Strong administrative and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Commercial awareness
