Due to an unprecedented period of expansion, a Kilkenny-based e-commerce fulfillment hub, now seeks an experienced Chief Operations Manager. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role is responsible for the operation and setup of a number of Fulfillment Warehouse sites in the UK and Ireland, ensuring smooth operations and consistent service levels. The Manager has multiple direct reports and will design and direct the work of the functional area. The Manager coordinates logistics, installation, inventory control and vendor management systems using strong project management and communication skills.  As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Chief Operations Manager is a customer facing role and participates in the setting of yearly strategic goals and managing staff to meet or exceed goals. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all sites within your remit are performing to the agreed SLA's.
  • Securing local and international additional capacity when required, either through partnerships or own managed sites.
  • Ensure that all sites have adequate resources.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to the fulfilment team to successfully accomplish operational goals and attain optimum performance levels.
  • Manage continuous improvement process across all sites.
  • Optimise layouts of fulfilment centres.
  • Management of Procurement of supplies.
  • Capacity & headcount planning.
  • Training, team & culture development.
  • Overall Capital project management.
  • KPIs, development, reporting and monitoring.
  • Facilities management including Quality, Health & Safety and Site Security.
  • Participate on the company leadership team and on regular calls with key clients.
  • Develops and delivers presentations to executive management as required.
  • Participates in Company events which may involve international travel.

Essential Requirements:

  • Min 5 years previous experience within a similar role.
  • Previous experience managing a WMS / Fulfillment software.        
  • Experience in continuous improvement / Lean process.                
  • Experience setting and management of KPI‘s
  • Ambitious individual with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent reporting skills.                    
  • Effective planning, organizational and monitoring skills.                
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a pressurized and dynamic environment.            
  • The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team                
  • Strong Project Management and Negotiation experience.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven record of leading positive change.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel when required
