Customs Broker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Customs Clearance Brokerage Clerk to join a busy international logistics operation based in Shannon. This role is ideal for someone with strong customs knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with carriers to obtain shipping documentation and information.
• Validate customs documentation received from carriers.
• Maintain accurate customs records and update internal databases.
• Complete end-of-month bulk customs declarations.
• Prepare customs reports for customers and Revenue.
• Support customs compliance testing and auditing activities.
• Process export customs declarations accurately and efficiently.
• Compile customs entries and supporting documentation.
• Provide customs support and guidance to freight forwarding teams.
• Ensure all customs activities comply with Irish and EU customs regulations.
• Provide occasional weekend cover during periods of annual leave or sickness.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customs clearance or customs brokerage within a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of EU customs procedures, including import and export clearance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when processing customs documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Access (or similar database systems).
• Ability to work across multiple systems and manage documentation efficiently.
