A leading freight forwarder with an emphasis on the Beverage sector now seeks an experienced Customs Clearance Agent. Suitable applicants will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ customs clearance experience in a busy multimodal freight forwarder with a good level of customs knowledge and not simply data admins completing pre-filled declarations with basic info. As some entries involve alcohol, knowledge of inward processing, bonded entries and calculating VAT/Duty is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary customs documentation and entries for import and export shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws.
- Ensure all shipments meet applicable laws and regulations, including correct HS/HTS classification and origin determination.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and customs brokers to resolve shipment holds or queries efficiently.
- Generate and maintain accurate customs reports and data within management systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven customs clearance experience within a local freight forwarding or alcohol importer is essential.
- Experience with Inward Processing, Bonded entries and calculating VAT/Duty.
- Excellent knowledge of Irish/EU and international customs procedures and requirements.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in customs data input systems and MS Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume documentation.
