International freight company based in Dublin South now wish to hire an experienced Customs Clerk with experience within a high volume operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient and effective Customs Clearance Service ensuring administration procedures are carried out in line with Revenue and the company's standards;
  • To ensure that all data sent to Revenue is fully accurate;
  • Ensure the resolution of all clearance queries in a timely and effective manner;
  • Supports business wide compliance of government regulations concerning import, trade agreements, and global operations;
  • Liaison with internal departments across business units on regulatory and duty matters;
  • Ensure compliance with Customs import and export regulations including examination of import and export entry documents, receiving, and payment;
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive records;
  • To ensure the Import/ IFMS system is updated with importers and exporter details and specific requests;
  • To liaise with both internal and external customers and ensure all clearance queries and requests are resolved/followed through in a timely and effective manner.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum 2 years work experience with Imports and Exports Customs Clearances;
  • Significant customs clearance knowledge (e.g. classifications, valuation, optimization licenses);
  • Must possess excellent analytical, communication, presentation and organisation skills;
  • The ability to interpret large volumes of information;
  • The successful candidate must be motivated, flexible, a self-starter who works well both individually and in teams;
  • Computer and technical literacy will be essential;
  • 2nd level education and / or industry accreditation beneficial but not essential;
  • Enthusiastic approach and the ability to deal positively with pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and administrative skills;
  • Excellent PC literacy and keyboard skills required;

Terms:

Permanent, Full-time

Note: Working Hours - 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Whilst the core hours are 9am-5pm. There will be occasional holiday cover which will involve flexibility to work between 5am- 10pm and to cover some weekends. Flexibility in this regard will be a requirement of the role.

Package:
€28-35k
