Customs Clearance Manager

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Customs Clearance Manager to lead and support a busy customs operation. The successful candidate will oversee a large team, ensuring customs activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with all regulatory requirements.

This role involves managing daily operations, developing team performance, driving process improvements, and acting as a key point of support for customs queries, compliance matters, and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a customs team to achieve high standards of service and compliance.
• Ensure customs procedures and legislation are consistently followed.
• Provide guidance on complex customs queries and operational issues.
• Develop team capability through coaching, training, and performance management.
• Monitor performance, identify improvements, and support process development.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and customs authorities.
• Support system improvements, compliance initiatives, and operational projects.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing teams within customs, logistics, freight forwarding, or a related environment.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
