A global biopharmaceutical company now require a Customs Clearance Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis to assist the Customs team with customs-related escalations from their partners and dealings with Revenue. Reporting to the Global Customs & Trade Compliance Manager, this is a hybrid role with office attendance required three days a week in North Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career with support from other members of the team. Having a strong Customs regulatory understanding and the ability to interpret these changes to effectively contribute to the organisations goals with regards to customs and trade compliance is key to the role. 

You should have a deep understanding and practical experience in processing import/export clearances, Inward Processing and Customs Warehousing. You do not require knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, Export Controls, Sanctions Screening, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide customs subject matter expertise to resolve escalated issues related to clearance rejections.
  • Practical support in the preparation and submission of more complex declarations.
  • Completing and validating Customs compliant documentation where required.
  • Interface with partner and information providers to ensure all required information is received and understood.
  • Assist with new market or product implementation and drafting workflows and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years Customs Clearance experience with some exposure to biopharmaceutical products.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to resolve queries.
  • Excellent organisational skills and capable of working at a fast pace
  • Strong PC Skills such as Excel / Word & PowerPoint.
  • Excellent level of English Oral and Written is required.
  • Professional and focused approach with a high level to attention and detail.
  • Attention to analytics and conformance with defined procedures in tight timelines.
  • Customer-focused with desire to always strive for excellence.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude and highly ambitious approach.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Increased level of flexibility to meet timelines on reporting.
  • Exceptional Communication

Terms: 
Full-time, 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract, hybrid working from North Dublin (2 days WFH).
