Our client is a leading international express parcels and specialist customs operator, providing fast, reliable delivery services across Ireland and worldwide. They now seek an experienced Customs Compliance Specialist to join their Dublin-based operations team. This is a key role ensuring all import and export activities remain fully compliant with Irish and EU customs regulations.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process customs declarations for express parcel shipments, with specific focus on H7 low-value declarations.
  • Monitor customs clearance performance to ensure all shipments are released on time and within service-level agreements.
  • Maintain compliance with EU Customs Code (UCC), Revenue requirements, and internal policies.
  • Review and audit declaration accuracy, correcting tariff codes, valuation, and origin data as required.
  • Support system updates and data validation between customs and operational software platforms.
  • Liaise with internal operations, customer service, and external agencies to resolve clearance issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Identify process improvements to streamline customs handling and enhance compliance accuracy.
  • Support customs audits, record-keeping, and internal training initiatives.

Education, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Diploma in Customs Compliance / FIATA or IIFA training highly desirable.
  • Continuous professional development in customs or international trade is an advantage.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in customs brokerage or customs operations, ideally within express parcel or courier environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of H7 and standard import/export declaration processes.
  • Familiarity with Revenue AIS, ICS2, and other customs systems.
  • Proven understanding of tariff classification, valuation, and duty/VAT implications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and customs software platforms.
