Job Description: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Dispatch Coordinator to join their team in North Dublin. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our clients' dispatch function, ensuring that all customer deliveries are executed efficiently and to the highest service standards. This position will work closely with our clients' Dispatch Manager and collaborate in the day-to-day dispatching of vans to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Print and organize dockets according to delivery schedules.
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, assigning them to appropriate locations in accordance with predefined schedules.
- Monitor and adjust schedules in real-time to accommodate changes, emergencies, and cancellations.
- Collaborate closely with a team of 20+ drivers to provide updates and resolve schedule related issues.
- Maintaining records of dispatch activities, including logs of assignments, vehicle maintenance, and incident reports.
- Ensuring that all operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards. This includes monitoring driver hours, vehicle inspections, and adherence to transportation regulations.
- Collaborating with other departments within the organization, such as logistics, maintenance, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive approach to problem-solving.
- Be available to step in and carry out multi-drop deliveries and handle breakdowns as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a Dispatch Coordinator role or similar position within a fast-paced FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
- Strong communication, people management, and customer service skills.
- Previous experience assisting in the management of a busy transport department with approximately 20 drivers in a high-volume, high-turnover business.
- Excellent organizational and administration skills with the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of distribution operations, including specific processes such as Health and Safety (H&S) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
- Basic IT and computer skills.
- Customer-focused and driven to provide exceptional service.
Salary: €35,000 - €45,000 (DOE)
Days and hours of work: Tuesday to Saturday, from 5/5:30 AM – 1/1:30 PM
