A long-established haulage company is now seeking a Domestic Transport Planner to join their team. Reporting to the Transport Manager, the successful candidate will join a busy, integrated transport planning team responsible for coordinating domestic and export distribution operations.
Responsibilities:
Work as part of an integrated transport planning team
- Ensure company guidelines and quality service are maintained at all times
- Liaising with clients, sub-contractors, overseas offices and agents
- Responsible for communicating with customers and understanding customer requirements
- Coordinate in the planning process for both the domestic and export distribution
- Live control of fleet vehicles and trailers adjusting runs to meet delivery times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of transport planning experience in a haulage environment
- Strong understanding of articulated lorries, drop trailers, and tachograph legislation
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong knowledge of Ireland and UK road networks
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a dynamic setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software
