European Road Freight Supervisor, Dublin North 50K
Long Established Road Freight Forwarding Specialist now requires a European Road Freight Forwarding Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Road Freight Team Leader. The European Forwarding Supervisor will work as part of the European Forwarding team, to manage and coordinate all European transport and forwarding activities.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Supervise Import and Export Forwarding Team
- Day to day management and direct assistance of the Operations team to ensure all transactions are processed timely and accurately in line with company procedures and expectations.
- Manage hours and holidays to ensure adequate cover in place when required.
- Ensure all staff are up to date with training and fully comply with legislation and industry norms.
- Ensure staff are cross-trained to provide cover where required.
- Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policy.
- Manage staff appraisals in line with company policy.
- Manage relations and services with European agents.
- Ensure all agents operate in line with company agreements for service levels and pricing.
- Set up and manage regular meetings to review performance and pricing.
- Agree where required specific pricing or services.
- Review new agent opportunities and make recommendations to the senior management team.
- Ensure correct procedures are agreed and implemented for the management of agents business.
- Manage relations and services with suppliers.
- Ensure all suppliers are working in line with agreements on service and pricing.
- Set up and manage regular meetings to review performance and pricing.
- Agree, where required, specific pricing or services.
- Review suppliers and actively look for new suppliers to improve pricing and services available.
- Review operations to ensure the best options are being used, including co-load and container service options.
- Ensure all suppliers are registered and managed in line with the company supplier approval policy.
- Work with the Sales team to secure opportunities.
- Assist sales team in pricing opportunities outside of normal services.
- Maintain and review the sales tariffs for European business.
- Update sales tariffs when required.
- Accompany sales team at customers meetings where required.
- Work with the sales team to ensure SOP’s are completed and proper transition of opportunities.
- Review jobs on system and liaise with sales team where required to ensure jobs profit reflect the company requirement.
- Customer service and business retention.
- Manage relationship with Forwarding customers.
- Set up and attend QBR’s for top 25 customers in forwarding.
- Agree SOP’s and ensure implementation.
- Ensure rates are in place for all regular and account holding customers.
- Work with sales account owners to resolve issues with customers Administration and reporting.
- Ensure all files are opened correctly on the system.
- Ensure all billing is completed on time in line with company expectations.
- Ensure all costings are entered correctly and timely on the system.
- Ensure all reports are completed on time.
- Review reports to identify issues with customers/rates or service and make recommendations or correction.
Candidate experience & Qualifications;
- 3rd Level Degree in Transport & Logistics, Business Degree or Industrial Equivalent (Supply Chain Management/ Transport preferable).
- Full comprehension of the English language – both written and spoken. European Language desirable but not essential.
- Proven record in Route Development.
- Proven record in Management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a team.
- Proven capacity to adopt and promote a teamwork style within departments and across an Organisation.
- Demonstrated relevant sectoral knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
- Demonstrated experience in relationship management and strong commercial awareness.
- Dynamic & dedicated with proven levels of high conformance & performance.
- Positive, Will Do attitude & ability to work as part of a team.
- Computer Literate including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, google search engine.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a corporate culture.
- Demonstrated ability to work positively work in a changing environment.
- Proactive knowledge and support for H&S best practices and requirements
Terms:
Permanent, full time (Monday - Friday)
Package:
Generous basic salary (Based on experience) Pension, OTE Bonus etc.
