Freight Forwarder

A highly organised and detail-oriented Ocean Freight Forwarder is needed to manage and coordinate international ocean freight shipments from origin to destination. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations while delivering excellent service to clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate end-to-end ocean freight shipments, including FCL and LCL cargo.
• Book cargo space with shipping lines, co-loaders, or NVOCCs and ensure timely pickup and delivery.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Communicate and coordinate with shippers, consignees, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics providers to facilitate seamless cargo movement.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Accurately input shipment data into freight forwarding software systems.
• Provide clients with timely updates and exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with internal teams (customs, warehousing, trucking) to coordinate multimodal transport when necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding within the local market
• Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and shipping documentation.
• Proficient in freight management
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
