An established global logistics organisation is seeking a commercially driven Freight Forwarding Sales Executive to develop new business and grow its customer base within the Irish market. This is a new-business-focused sales position suited to someone who enjoys prospecting, developing relationships and converting opportunities into long-term customers. You will manage an assigned territory, identify potential customers and work closely with operational and product teams to develop tailored international freight and logistics solutions. The organisation operates an extensive international network and offers strong career development opportunities within a professional, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop an assigned sales territory, identifying prospective customers and new business opportunities.
- Prospect, engage and develop relationships with key decision-makers across target organisations.
- Secure new customer revenue across international freight forwarding and logistics services.
- Develop a strong understanding of prospective customers, their supply chains and their logistics requirements.
- Maintain awareness of competitors, market activity and commercial opportunities within the territory.
- Manage the full sales process from initial prospecting and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and account implementation.
- Work closely with operational, product and regional teams to develop commercially viable logistics solutions.
- Prepare value-added proposals, presentations, cost-benefit calculations and supporting solution information.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activity, opportunities and customer information within the CRM system.
- Coordinate the successful transition and implementation of newly secured customers.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers following implementation and identify opportunities for further account development.
- Support Accounts Receivable activity where required.
- Participate in relevant industry events, trade groups and networking opportunities.
- Attend ongoing sales, product and service training.
- Meet customers regularly at their premises and other off-site locations.
- Deliver agreed sales activity, revenue and new-business targets.
Experience, Skills & Attributes;
- Experience selling freight forwarding or logistics services within the local market.
- A strong new-business mentality with the confidence to prospect and approach potential customers.
- Proven ability to build rapport and develop long-term commercial relationships.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a clear focus on achieving results.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and customer requirements can change quickly.
- Strong CRM and general computer skills, with the discipline to maintain accurate sales information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A high level of accountability, urgency and ownership of results.
- Have unrestricted eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Have a full clean licence and be available to meet customers off-site on a regular basis.
