Title: Inside Freight Sales & Pricing Executive
Location: Dublin 9
Terms: Full-time permanent, office-based, Mon-Fri, normal hours
Package: €40-50k + Pension

A long-established Dublin-based freight forwarder now requires an experienced Inside Freight Sales & Pricing Executive to generate profitable new business and develop customer opportunities through proactive inside sales activity. You will manage a qualified sales pipeline, working closely with external Sales, Product, Pricing, Operations and Marketing. Your quote and rating responsibilities include spot quotes, customer FCL rates and system auto-rating management

Key responsibilities;

  • Proactively generate spot quotes for existing client enquiries, maximising spot quote conversion rate
  • Provide timely updated monthly, every 2 months and long-term client FCL rates and notification of market trends
  • Manage the FMS auto-rating function in collaboration with the Regional Data Quality Manager, ensuring rates are accurately maintained, tested and functioning as intended
  • Proactively research and contact prospective customers generated through regional marketing campaigns etc through telephone, email, digital channels, marketing campaigns and agreed lead sources
  • Qualify opportunities generated by regional marketing by understanding customer requirements, shipment profile, trade lanes, decision process, commercial potential and timescale
  • Develop opportunities across air, ocean, road and relevant logistics solutions, escalating strategic or complex opportunities to external sales/Managing Director as appropriate
  • Coordinate with Product and Pricing teams to prepare commercially competitive solutions and quotations and ensure timely delivery to prospects
  • Own systematic quotation and opportunity follow-up, progress opportunities towards conversion and capture reasons for wins and losses
  • Generate profitable new business and contribute to agreed revenue, gross profit, pipeline, conversion and activity targets
  • Develop allocated existing or dormant customers through retention activity, cross-selling and identification of additional products and trade lanes
  • Set qualified appointments and opportunities for external sales/Managing Director where face-to-face engagement or senior commercial support is required
  • Record leads, contacts, activities, opportunities, quotations, next actions and expected close dates accurately in CRM. Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and forecast
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure effective onboarding and handover of newly won customers and a high-quality customer experience
  • Provide relevant market, competitor and customer intelligence and support targeted sales and marketing campaigns and new product launches
  • Collaborate with internal digital specialists to promote and demonstrate digital solutions, including RealTime, and identify opportunities to increase customer adoption

Experience, Skills & Education;

  • 2-3 years relevant B2B sales, inside sales, freight quotations or commercial experience; freight forwarding or logistics experience strongly preferred
  • Relevant third level qualification desirable ; equivalent commercial experience will also be considered
  • Good understanding of freight forwarding and air, ocean and road products, or the ability to develop this knowledge quickly
  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify opportunities and sell confidently by telephone, email and digital channels
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, margin/gross profit and profitable customer growth
  • Strong questioning, active listening, communication, influencing and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Customer focused, organised and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work independently against targets
  • Strong CRM discipline and good IT skills including AI; confident using digital sales and customer solutions
  • Analytical approach with the ability to use sales data, customer feedback and market intelligence to identify opportunities
  • Collaborative team player able to work effectively with external sales, Product, Pricing, Operations, Marketing and digital specialists
