We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Import Operator to join a leading international logistics provider based in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced freight forwarding environment, managing ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end ocean import shipments.
- Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers.
- Prepare and process import documentation.
- Arrange customs clearance and ensure compliance with Irish import regulations.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers.
- Resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and internal systems.
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in ocean imports within freight forwarding.
- Experience working in the Irish logistics market.
- Strong knowledge of import documentation and customs procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple shipments.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.
