Dublin 11-based Ocean Freight Forwarder, now seek to hire an experienced Ocean Import freight forwarder, ideally with experience of the Far Eastern market. The successful applicant will join a fast-paced environment and will be required to think on their feet and have good attention to detail. Teamwork is essential for success in this role.
Please note this is an initial 12-Month fixed-term contract with the potential of a permanent role. Hybrid working is available after 6 weeks of training if the company is satisfied that you are capable of carrying out your duties.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage all aspects of the import process.
- Complete day to day customs clearance activities as instructed.
- Obtain and communicate, internally and externally, all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met.
- Liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders, and agents to obtain up to date shipment information.
- Ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments.
- Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
- Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions.
- Maintain all files ensuring they are costed and billed correctly in accordance with procedures provided by management; and
- Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Import Ocean Freight Forwarding experience.
- Experience with Irish Customs clearance.
- A 3rd-level qualification in Transport / Logistics, FIATA Diploma or International CPC would be desirable.
- An excellent customer-centric attitude towards business and a good communicator.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to maintain priorities and deadlines.
- IT literate with experience in freight management and customs software.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- The ability to work on own initiative.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
