Dublin 11-based Ocean Freight Forwarder, now seek to hire an experienced Ocean Import freight forwarder, ideally with experience of the Far Eastern market. The successful applicant will join a fast-paced environment and will be required to think on their feet and have good attention to detail. Teamwork is essential for success in this role. Hybrid working is available after 6 weeks of training if the company is satisfied that you are capable of carrying out your duties.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage all aspects of the import process.
- Complete day to day customs clearance activities as instructed.
- Obtain and communicate, internally and externally, all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met.
- Liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders, and agents to obtain up to date shipment information.
- Ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments.
- Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
- Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions.
- Maintain all files ensuring they are costed and billed correctly in accordance with procedures provided by management; and
- Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Import Ocean Freight Forwarding experience.
- Experience with Irish Customs clearance.
- A 3rd-level qualification in Transport / Logistics, FIATA Diploma or International CPC would be desirable.
- An excellent customer-centric attitude towards business and a good communicator.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to maintain priorities and deadlines.
- IT literate with experience in freight management and customs software.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- The ability to work on own initiative.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
