Job Position

An established North Cork based transport company requires an experienced  Operations Controllerf who will report directly to the Depot Manager.This is a challenging role that will be rewarding for the right candidate.
The purpose of the role is to ensure staff understand what is required of them so our customer’s requirements are met whilst managing relevant costs on a daily basis.
Experience within the transport industry is a bonus but not essential.
The planned shift is Early shift (5am to 2pm)

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Effective management of a busy operation to include...

• Communicate directly with depot manager daily re previous night’s warehouse activity.
• Communicate directly with depot manager daily re previous night’s vehicle routing & loading.
• Ensuring staff avoid loading errors in despatching vehicles.
• Prebriefing drivers where necessary.
• Communicate directly with router to ensure adequate transport is in place.
• Ensuring all collections are allocated for that day before leaving the office

QUALIFICATIONS
The right candidate will...

• Be highly motivated with the ability to put in place effective work systems to manage all resources involved in the day to day operation of the depot.
• Experience in Transport/Logistics is desired but not essential.
• Will have experience in a Supervisory role and in Managing teams.
• A good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
• Excellent Written and verbal communication
• Flexible and a strong team player

Terms:

• Full time, permanent

Package:

• €35-40k
