We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Freight Operations Supervisor in Cork.

The Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our freight forwarding operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the freight forwarding operations team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of cargo transportation, including booking shipments, arranging transportation modes, and monitoring deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and customs authorities to facilitate the timely and secure movement of goods.
  • Address operational issues and resolve discrepancies promptly to minimize disruptions in the shipping process.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members and provide training and development opportunities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, documentation, and financial transactions in accordance with industry standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective strategies.
  • Foster collaboration and communication with other departments to optimize overall business operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding operations.
  • Thorough understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as MS Office and logistics management systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
