Job Position

Our client, a highly recognised engineering company in North Cork now seeks to hire a Project Engineer. The successful candidate would be reporting directly to a Program Manager. The purpose of this position is to assist the Project Managers in the planning, organisation and running of a project in order to achieve the project objectives safely and within agreed time, cost and performance criteria.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead a team of process and mechanical engineers.

• Be responsible for design, procurement, construction and testing activities during the project.

• Work closely with and drive internal teams to deliver on their specific project objective.

• Ensure that the system is delivered punctually, cost-effectively, to specification and meeting the highest quality standards.

• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors in satisfying our customers’ expectations.

• A particular focus on the commercial effect of project decisions will be paramount.

• Monitor and report on project progress and identify and manage any risks to the project’s schedule or commercial objectives.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years’ experience in similar role in related industry

• BEng in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process, Chemical Engineering or similar

• Mechanical and process engineering experience, ideally in the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other regulated industry an advantage

• Must have strong MS Office skills

• Good telephone, oral and written communication skills in English (including experience in dealing with clients and vendors)

• Excellent, interpersonal, and organisational skills

• Must possess good attention to detail and flexibility of approach

• Must work well as part of a team Must be able to demonstrate the ability to meet strict deadlines

• Must be able to work under one’s own initiative and to actively contribute to a multi-disciplined project team
