An established international logistics company is seeking an experienced Import Customs & Freight Coordinator to manage import customs clearance activities and support end-to-end freight forwarding operations. The role involves ensuring all shipments are processed efficiently, compliantly, and delivered within customer timelines while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Irish import customs clearance processes from start to finish.
- Prepare and submit customs declarations using AIS (Automated Import System).
- Coordinate import shipments across air, sea, and road freight.
- Ensure all shipping, customs, and compliance documentation is accurate and completed on time.
- Liaise with customers, carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams regarding shipment status and customs requirements.
- Provide updates to customers and resolve operational or customs-related issues proactively.
- Support export customs clearance and freight forwarding activities during holiday cover and busy operational periods.
- Ensure compliance with Irish and EU customs regulations, tariffs, classifications, and company procedures.
- Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure timely invoicing and accurate job management.
Experience Required
- Experience in a similar customs role in Ireland is essential.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Irish import customs clearance procedures.
- Proven experience using the AIS (Automated Import System) for customs declarations.
- Strong knowledge of EU and Irish customs regulations, tariffs, and commodity classification.
- Previous freight forwarding or logistics experience across air, sea, or road freight is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
