Road Freight Forwarder

Our European Roadfreight Department is seeking to recruit a Freight Forwarder to join their fast-paced team in Dublin. Reporting to the Road Freight Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for Transport Planning and customer service associated with road freight shipments to and from the continent. The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience as a freight forwarder, planner or dispatcher.

Responsibilities:

• Processing of customer bookings by e-mail, phone and online
• Planning of export and import traffic, including FTL, LTL and groupage.
• Replying to or delegating incoming correspondence
• Dealing with customer queries and proactively communicating with customers.
• Working with hauliers and our partners & agents abroad.
• Ensuring accurate financial information is kept.
• Updating customers as to order progress.
• Progressing and updating orders up to and including file closure.
• Managing outturn reports and amending files in line with shortages/overlands.
• Other General Duties within the Department
• Liaising with Warehouse staff and Management daily.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a busy freight forwarding role.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Excellent English language communication & interpersonal skills are required.
• Good proficiency with Microsoft applications (Office 365 Suite) is required, and the candidate must be eager to learn other software used in the business.
• Must be a team player, while also having the ability to use their own initiative in their job as the varied tasks of this role will demand.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential.
• Some flexibility of working hours may be required due to the time sensitive nature of the industry and our clients, especially on Friday evenings for export planning.
• Some proficiency in German, Spanish, French or Dutch would be an advantage
