Road Freight Forwarder

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Road Freight Coordinator to join a logistics team in Cork. This role is ideal for someone with experience in freight forwarding who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the end-to-end movement of road freight shipments.
• Ensure the smooth and timely flow of freight from collection through to delivery.
• Accurately process shipment information and maintain operational systems.
• Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to customers and internal teams.
• Prepare accurate customer and supplier invoicing.
• Liaise with customers, carriers, and transport partners to ensure service levels are met.
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries and operational requests.
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure all shipments comply with company procedures and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate customer operating procedures and documentation.
• Work towards departmental KPIs and contribute to continuous operational improvements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months' experience within freight forwarding, logistics, or transport.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail..
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience using freight forwarding or transport management systems is beneficial.
• Hazardous Goods certification is an advantage but not essential.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
