Leading global logistics provider now seeks an experienced Road Freight Pricing Analyst to work from any of their nationwide depots in Dublin, Cork and Shannon. The role is responsible for collating accurate roadfreight tender pricing requests originating from sales, account management and operations. You will produce high-quality tender pricing responses to ‘Request for Quotations’ and ‘Request for Proposals’ from both existing and/or new clients. Ultimately, the role will help win new business and retain existing customers through tender proposals process.
The client is seeking someone that is very analytical and is proficient in Excel as this role is heavily Excel based.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for managing the pricing responses relating to client ‘Request for Quotations’ / Proposals (RFQs & RFPs) and to support with ‘Request for Information’ (RFIs) when required
- Proactively generating pricing solutions that differentiates the client in the marketplace
- Project manage pricing response bids from start to finish
- Liaise and work closely with the Bid Management Team (BMT) on assigned global pricing requests.
- Request, collect and compile national/regional/global pricing from correspondent pricing teams in line with tender strategies.
- Provide feedback and consultation to the key internal stakeholders regarding client pricing formats, requirements, supporting data, etc.
- Review the RFQs / RFPs to identify and record the required actions and action owners
- Liaison with the bid owner and all of the various business field(s) and key stakeholders to define the pricing strategy
- Work with the Bid Owner to determine logistics pricing solutions and quantify the value savings in the bid proposal
- Constantly review the overall process surrounding tender responses and recommend system and process enhancements to the Pricing and Tender Manager.
- Responsibility for any subsequent change management projects
- Train other members of the team to cover their role for holiday and sickness
- Support with RFI process as necessary
- Assess current pricing trends within the business, share insight and solution suggestions for profit improvement
- Utilising reports, market insights and technology to ensure the most efficient pricing process for our business
Experience, Expertise & Skills:
- 3-5 years of Road Logistics pricing and/or Road logistics related experience
- Knowledge of Road Logistics services for High Tech, Temperature Controlled, Ambient, General Cargo and Dangerous Goods shipments.
- White Glove experience would be a distinct advantage.
- Industry experience in pricing and network operations
- Understanding of the Irish Road import and export market
- Working knowledge of current Road Logistics pricing structures
- IT literate
- Demonstrable advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, macros, etc)
- The ability to travel if required.
