A leading short-sea shipping company is looking to expand their Sales Team by adding an experienced Sales & Account Manager. You will have direct day-to-day responsibility for the sales activities across our different markets and lines reporting to the Commercial Area Manager.

Within this challenging role, you will be responsible for the structured mapping of the approach to customers. You will proactively manage and expand new and existing customers, by conducting (market) research, visiting trade fairs, events and conferences and also periodically visiting customers and prospects. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • To be responsible for the structured mapping of the approach to customers by drawing up an action plan.
  • To formulate objectives for increasing margin and turnover based on existing and new business.
  • To be responsible that knowledge of market developments are kept up-to-date by generating leads and tender requests.
  • To focus on and translate customer wishes and needs into the internal organisation.
  • To be responsible for recognising opportunities and threats in the market and generating leads.
  • To develop growth of turnover and margin of existing customers by dealing with tender and quotation requests.
  • To be responsible for preparing and conducting contract negotiations for new customers and orders.
  • To be responsible for converting quotations and tenders into business.
  • To independently develop sales activities.
  • To be responsible for maintaining contacts with all stakeholders i.e. customers, suppliers, industry organisations and internal organisation etc.
  • To be accountable for monitoring contract capitalisation and development by analysing of actitives carried out in combination with prices and annual price adjustments.
  • To structure and systematically update of applicable purchasing/sales, agreements and contracts.
  • To manage customer satisfaction, by ensuring agreements are fulfilled, problems are solved and the delivered product correspondence with agreements.
  • To carry out any other duties within your skill and ability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Min 5 years of Commercial Maritime experience with a proven track record.
  • Graduate/bachelor level or equivalent by experience.
  • Ability to analyse and present data.
  • Work well under pressure and have a high degree of flexibility.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.  
  • Full driving license.
