Our client is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Forwarder to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international ocean freight shipments from booking through final delivery, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate FCL and LCL ocean freight shipments from origin to destination.
- Arrange bookings with shipping lines and coordinate vessel schedules.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and commercial documents.
- Track shipments and provide customers with regular updates.
- Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, hauliers, and customers.
- Coordinate import and export clearance requirements.
- Resolve shipment delays, documentation issues, and operational queries.
- Ensure all shipment information is accurately recorded in internal systems.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and logistics partners.
- Monitor deadlines, cut-off times, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure shipments comply with relevant customs and international shipping requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in ocean freight forwarding or international logistics.
- Good knowledge of FCL/LCL operations, shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Experience working with freight forwarding or logistics systems is advantageous
