Senior Air Freight Operator

An established global logistics provider is seeking an experienced Senior Airfreight Operator to join their Cork-based team. This role involves managing end-to-end airfreight operations while ensuring compliance, service excellence, and strong client relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting operational efficiency and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle airfreight shipments, including import and export operations
• Coordinate bookings with airlines, hauliers, and overseas offices
• Ensure compliance with Irish customs regulations and international freight standards
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or service issues
• Maintain accurate documentation and system updates
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Provide rate quotations and support commercial opportunities where required
• Support and guide junior team members and contribute to process improvements
• Ensure all shipments meet company and regulatory compliance standards

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in airfreight operations
• Strong understanding of Irish customs procedures and airfreightocumentation
• Experience managing both import and export shipments
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Proficiency in freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
