Large logistics group based in Ballycoolin, now requires a Site Operations Manager.
This role is available due to ongoing growth and development so this represents an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business that will value your skills and reward your efforts.

Primary purpose of the role 

  • To maximise the performance of the operation by directing the daily, weekly and monthly activities; providing leadership, motivation, training and development of the workforce, executing against customer requirements and operational performance
  • Pro-actively plan and manage all warehouse resources to consistently deliver excellent service and to drive improvements both in productivity and service levels to customers.
  • Drive a process of continuous review of all Processes / and Procedures to ensure provision of timely & accurate reports relating to stock integrity & performance levels.  
  • Provide leadership to motivate and train employees ensuring they understand their role and its impact on delivering an effective and quality service to our customers. 
  • Build effective relationships with both internal & external customers.
  • Manage a team / process ensuring the co-ordination of cycle counts and quarterly stock takes, ensuring that upon completion of cycle counts that timely corrective actions are taken to bring the system into line with physical stock.
  • Instigate investigations as appropriate following stock issues / stock takes, establishing the gains / losses and their causes.
  • Proactively investigate activities seeking potential problems to minimise stock losses thereby reducing the liability to our clients and the business.
  • Continuous review & update of WMS systems & processes to develop & improve the manner in which we operate. 
  • Proactively provide performance feedback and guidance to the team to continually develop the skills and experience. 
  • Lead by example fostering a culture of team working where continuous review & improvement of processes & procedures is the norm.  

General Accountabilities 

  • Budget management
  • Delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Effective leadership and management of the operational and administration teams
  • Deliver a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members
  • Team building and morale management
  • Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Responsibility for all issues relating to Health & Safety and the Environment
  • Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilization
  • Translate, analyse and deliver customer needs through effective operations
  • Facility management
  • Ensure daily / weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished (i.e. staffing, equipment, space)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a Operations lead role 
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedures and policies
  • Experience with WMS
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work with all levels of company staff
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail, with the ability to recognise and prioritise key tasks as they arise.
  • Must have excellent oral and written English.
