A Midlands-based global logistics leader renowned for its efficient and reliable services now seeks to hire a Transport Manager. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and innovation, the Company has established itself as a leader in the logistics industry, providing tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of businesses and individuals worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Transport, with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Oversee all aspects of transport operations, including coordination with Irish and International transport companies, managing inbound and outbound air freight requirements, and ensuring smooth logistics operations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for domestic and E-commerce customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Take charge of managing transport costs and budgets, ensuring profitability and adherence to financial targets.
  • Lead and motivate the Linehaul team, setting clear objectives, managing KPIs, and providing guidance and support to administrative staff.
  •  Implement strategies for optimising transportation routes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.
  • Oversee all company vehicles, including rentals, insurance, compliance with regulations, and ensuring vehicles run according to schedule.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data within the control tower operations, maintaining a high level of data integrity.
  • Control all transport costs, including conducting annual pricing reviews, participating in tendering processes, and maximising efficiency.
  • Effectively manage UK and Domestic subcontractor vehicles, coordinating activities to ensure maximum vehicle fill and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Hub and company Health & Safety regulations and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the transport operations.
  • Take responsibility for all employee engagements, including managing annual leave, handling disciplinary actions, and conducting performance appraisals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years similar experience working in a Transport, Warehouse or Logistics environment.
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English.
  • Professional qualifications in transport/supply chain/logistics are desirable.
  • Valid Transport Management CPC with an good understanding of RSA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant transport/fleet management systems.
  • Excellent timekeeping skills.
  • Safety awareness.

Terms:
Fulltime, permanent, site-based.
