Coordinate and optimise daily transport operations across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Allocate drivers and vehicles efficiently, manage cross-border schedules, and ensure timely deliveries. Liaise with customers, warehouse teams, and subcontractors while maintaining compliance and accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transport operations, including domestic and international deliveries
- Allocate work to drivers and subcontractors, optimising fleet usage for full and part loads
- Coordinate ferry bookings and cross-border transit schedules
- Monitor vehicles, respond to delays, and resolve operational issues
- Liaise with customers, warehouse teams, and external partners
- Ensure compliance with driver hours, safety regulations, and specialised freight (ADR)
- Maintain transport records and produce reports
Qualifications
- Experience in transport planning or logistics, ideally with international operations
- Knowledge of Irish, UK, and EU transport regulations
- Awareness of ADR/specialised freight handling
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency in transport management systems, GPS, and Excel
- Logistics, supply chain, or business qualification is a plus
