The Warehouse Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of warehouse equipment to support daily logistics activities. This includes putting away incoming stock and replenishing pick faces to ensure smooth order fulfilment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse machinery (e.g. forklift, reach truck, or pallet stacker) in a safe and efficient manner
- Put away incoming goods into designated storage locations
- Replenish pick faces to maintain stock availability for order picking
- Ensure accurate stock placement in line with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Conduct routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies
- Assist with stock counts and inventory control as required
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred
- Valid forklift/reach truck license (if applicable)
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and move goods where required
- Comfortable operating machinery for extended periods
- Ability to work on feet for long durations
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Report hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately
