International Freight Forwarding company has expanded its operation and now requires a Branch Manager to focus on the development of a branch in Dublin North. supported by and reporting to the head office in Germany, this position will entail the management of staff operating in Warehousing, Air, Ocean and Road freight forwarding operations. With continued support from senior management, the candidate needs to be motivated to succeed and have the drive & enthusiasm to grow with the company. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Management of branch profit & loss, process, people and facility management and associated administration. 
  • Financial - Budget forecast; cost control; maximising profit 2.
  • Process Management - Ensure Customer Services, Operations and Job Administration follow operational processes and procedures, comply with Company policies and work effectively as a team; Maintain and manage performance through the branch scorecard to achieve and surpass benchmark; Irregularity handling – resolve issues arising between departments; Review and address any performance issues highlighted by
  • Non-Conformance reports.
  • People Management - Ensure staff follow Company Policies and Procedures; Communicate effectively with staff as directed by the senior management team;
  • Ensure weekly staff meetings are held; Conduct competence reviews for all staff in line with policy; Address staff grievances and any disciplinary matters in line with policy; Absence management in line with policy.
  • Facility Management - Arrange for the provision, maintenance and repair of equipment in line with policy; Arrange for the maintenance of the fabric of the building and services in line with policy; Ensure a good standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout the facility.
  • Administration - Maintain, record and store in line with policy; Conduct and review risk assessments of all activities in line with policy; Manage Health &
  • Safety locally - Prepare and submit reports as required to meet deadlines.
  • Business Development - Development of existing and new business
  • Maintain close relationships with customers; Liaise with the business development team; hold periodic sales meetings; networking with trade and commerce organisations.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Completed Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing or a similar field within the industry. 
  • 5 years of People Management experience within the Irish market in a Freight Forwarding environment. 
  • Be willing to travel aboard to a European office for training as required.   
  • Proven Motivation & driven to succeed in reaching senior management level within a Freight Forwarding organisation. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage people. 
  • ​PC Literate with perfectly fluent English and presentation skills. 
  • An understanding that a Management role requires the individual to be in the office, physically present, in order to manage a team and lead by example. 

Terms:    
Full-time permanent position, Monday-Friday office hours. 

Salary:   
Negotiable basic salary depending on experience + Benefits package
