Our client operates freight services on routes between Ireland, Britain and France and is seeking to appoint a Commercial Support Executive within the Freight Department. The Commercial Support Executive's primary duty is to identify business opportunities – this is achieved through developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with existing customers while also ensuring that all new business opportunities are thoroughly explored and pursued.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients daily to ensure that support levels are maximised
  • Pitch services to new customers in a professional manner and ensuring strong follow up business principles are applied
  • Maintain IT systems to ensure that best results can be achieved
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure that the most effective strategies and solutions are identified and executed
  • Understand the marketplace to ensure that effective advantageous solutions can be implemented to capitalise on opportunities
  • Be agile and reactive on all interactions with customers to maximise support
  • Become a subject matter expert on the company’s services, processes and operations to ensure best in class service is delivered on each and every customer interaction
  • Be part of all new initiatives and opportunities presented to grow and sustain the commercial division
  • Have strong knowledge of all departmental IT systems and solutions in order to ensure that a full backup to the various roles can be seamlessly undertaken
  • Ensure strong key account management principles apply in all business opportunities

Skills / Qualifications / Experience – The Person

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues/ customers both written and verbally. The ability to work co-operatively and flexibly with other members of the team with a full understanding of the role to be played as a valuable team member.
  • Ability to manage workload by prioritising and working to deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Innovative Be innovative in your approach to work and possess the ability to network effectively
  • Experience in the Freight industry is a distinct advantage

Salary:
€30,000 - €34,000 (DOE)
