Key Account Manager (Aerospace) required by a leading logistics company. This is an opportunity to be part of the industry’s most professional Key Account Program which is focused on delivering continued Strategic Value to their customer base and the role can be based from either Cork or Shannon.

As an Aviation industry expert, you as Key Account Manager, will become the primary strategic point of contact between the company and the customer. You will be responsible for building strong relationships, understanding customers’ business and supply chain strategies and ensuring the right solutions are on offer to match their strategy as well as delivering further growth to the business.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Identify customer decision-making / organisational layers and build and maintain strategic relationships acting as the key interface to the customer
  • Understand the customers’ business and ensure we  have the correct support structures and communication lines in place to service their requirements across all parts of our business
  • Have a clear understanding of the Customers Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy and develop a supporting the Key Account Plan / Strategy across all business units.
  • Implement business strategies for the Customers in the assigned portfolio that anticipate and translate future market trends into business growth
  • Work to provide Continuous Improvement solutions for the customer that are unique, customised and innovative with a focus on business retention, longer-term relationship growth and GP improvement
  • Create own pipeline of both local and global opportunities within the assigned Customer portfolio accounts and deliver new business within the portfolio.
  • Manage your key account portfolio assignment in alignment with the National / Regional and Vertical management strategy.
  • Identify, target and build new relationships with potential future customers within the Irish Aviation industry.
  • Understand and deliver regular Product / Service / Solution sessions to relevant customer departments in all regions

Core Requirements:

  • Substantial customer relationship experience within a similar role with proven business development & relationship management skills within a similar matrix centric organisation.
  • A demonstrated high-level understanding of the Aviation industry and freight forwarding business environment gained through the above experience
  • Proven experience in anticipating and championing innovation, value-added services and supply chain transformation
  • Strong expertise in commercial modelling and agility to build multi-dimensional commercial offerings.
  • Very good communication skills can build credibility quickly with key stakeholder groups with the ability to inspire and lead people during all business stages - both direct reports and peers.
  • Highly customer-focused and can demonstrate an ability to build partnering relationships with high level influencing skills at senior levels within both internal and external stakeholder groups – can facilitate a collaborative approach.
  • Process-driven, very good (self-) organisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and levels and delegate were required 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
